Chapter #6

Brianna Wayne, Kryptonian

As Batman lay crumpled on the ground, his body shifting and changing, Superman did not stay idle. Realizing what was going on, and still holding the lead lid as a shield, he quickly zipped across the room and sealed the metal coffin shut once more. He’d been tempted to use the door to smash the strange variety of Kryptonite inside, but what was going on to Batman was more important, and it was possible that whatever was going on with him would require the mineral in the coffin to be solved.

Now that neither had to fear further radiation from the pink mineral, Superman turned his attention back on his crime-fighting cohort, only to see the costume did not fit him anymore, and the cowl had been removed. Where had once been a man in the peak of human condition was a woman in much the same state. Tall, muscular, and utterly gorgeous, her silky black hair fell like a cascading curtain down to the end of her neck, and her sharp, almost predatory facial features make her look like a warrior. With the costume’s bagginess, Superman was also able to tell this woman was completely stacked, but decided against using his X-Ray vision to see more details, out of respect for his friend’s privacy.

Batman was clearly still out of it, so with an apologetic smile Superman told him, “I know you hate being carried, but you’ll have to look grim and bear it.” Batman grunted in annoyance, but made no other protest as Superman lifted his body in a fireman carry and flew the two of them through the sewers, into the Gotham night air, and towards Wayne Manor. The entire time, Superman did his best, as a married man, to ignore how his friend’s suddenly feminine form felt in his arms.

Once at the Wayne estate, Superman met with Alfred, who was always happy to see one of his favorite friends of Master Bruce. But when the butler’s eyes fell on the transformed Bruce Wayne, a heavy sigh came from the British man. He wasn’t necessarily surprised, too much had happened since the child he’d been put in charge of began his mission to fight crime for anything to truly faze him, but he was worried. “Take care of him,” Superman asked of Alfred, while setting Bruce on one of the incredibly expensive couches in the manor, in spite of the bits of sewer grime still staining the Batman costume. “I’ll go back to grab what did this to him, so I can find a way to reverse it.” With that, the Man of Steel sped off.
