This choice: Alfred has no trouble believing this. • Go Back... The drive there only left Bruce more time to think about this situation. It was ridiculous, and there was no way he would be able to let any of his enemies know about this...the same could be said of most of his allies as well. Part of the power of the Batman was his strength, his seeming invulnerability, the mystery. If people knew he’d been transformed into some teenage girl, no matter how powerful he still was, there was no way Bruce could ever recover his vigilante identity’s mystique and menace.
It was, he had to admit, a little more difficult to drive the Batmobile, considering it was designed with him in mind, and his limbs were all different lengths now. Still, he didn’t crash it, and soon was pulling the car in through a hidden entrance into the Batcave, where Alfred awaited him. As to be expected, Alfred did no so much as blink as Bruce exited the vehicle, his body entirely different but his body language distinctly ‘him’. “Well,” Alred said, and Bruce stalked across the cave to his computer. “It seems your evening was more eventful than either of us would have guessed.”
Ignoring that comment, Bruce took a sample of the remnants of the chemicals that did this to him from the costume and analyzed it. It became clear immediately this was something quite odd: various chemicals never meant to be mixed together, left to stew for years on end. Finding a way to reverse this would take time. Weeks, at the very least. “I’m going to need a cover story,” he said, to himself. “I’ll have to create paperwork for this new body...an illegitimate daughter of Bruce Wayne perhaps? I’ll need to use a robot to play my ‘father’ when necessary...or perhaps a hologram. As for my crimefighting, I’m sure I can make one of Barbara’s suits fit me.”
A clearing of the throat from behind Bruce made him turn around to look at Alfred. “Master Bruce, if I may make a suggestion?” Always willing, if not exactly happy, to hear what his butler had to say, Bruce lightly inclined his head. “If you keep to crimefighting in this new body, it may help some people put together your ‘daughter’ being the new blonde crimefighter.” That was a good point, Bruce had to admit. But what was the alternative? “Contact Dick. Have him be Batman for you, until this is solved.”   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
