This choice: Fell To Her Knees, grabbing her chest • Go Back...Chapter #5It Takes a Toll by: cftvg   "Are you all right?" Weiss jumped to the aid of the blind girl. "What's wrong, are you okay?"
"Yes, yes. Don't worry about me, I'll be just fine." the light skinned girl said, seemingly short of breath. "My semblence just takes a toll on me, especially with the extent of your injuries." Pushing herself up, the girl stumbled and fell back down.
Weiss lifted the girl's left arm over her shoulder, trying to help her stand.
"Ruby, we need to take her to a doctor. Give me a hand."
"No, no. Really, I'm fine."
"No, you need help. Ruby, come on."
"B-but what about our picnic?" Ruby asked, slightly annoyed, "I made sandwiches and everything!"
"Ruby! She's hurt, forget about yhe sandwidhes."
"Hmph, fine. But after we drop her off, I'm making more."
Lifting the right arm over her shoulder, Ruby helped Weiss carry the inkured blind girl out of the forest, lucky to have seen no Grimm along the way.
A few hours later, the girl woke up to the sound of heels clackering along a hard floor. Clicking her teeth, the girl sound 'see' she was maybe in a nurse's office laying in a bed. But her ear's were ringing slightly, so the image was blurry.
The clacking of heels became louder and louder, until...
"Hi. Are you doing alright?" It was Weiss, cleaned up from after the encounter. "I realized that you wouldn't be able to see these after I bought them... Wait, that was rude, I..."
"It's okay. I love flowers." The blind girl said.
"How did you know I had flowers?"
"I can smell them from here. They're wonderful."
Walking up to the head of the bed, Weiss put the vase onto the bed-side counter. "I just wanted to come by and thank you. For saving us."
"Don't worry. It's what any huntress in training would do."
"Oh, you'retraining to become a huntress?" Weiss sat herself on the edge of the bed. "Are you training at Beacon?"
"Yes, I just transfered over from Atlas. The weather wasn't to my liking."
"Hey, I came from Atlas too. My sister's actually a graduate from there."
"Really? That's very interesting. It's good to know somebody from my home."
The two chatted for seemingly an hour, talking about everything from what part of Atlas they grew up in to talking about their current studies.
The time flew by for the two, before a ringing could be heard from Weiss's purse. "Excuses me just for a moment." Weiss picked up her scroll and walked out.
From outside the door, the blind girl could hear pieces of her side of the conversation. "Yes, uh huh. Okay, okay! Okay, yeah. Gotta go now, Ruby, I'll see you in a bit!"
"That was my friend." Weiss walked back into the room. "She was wanting to do a movie night, and you just can't win with her."
"Your friend? The one in the forest? You called her Ruby, right?"
"Yeah, Ruby Rose."
"Is she a good friend?"
"One of the best I've got. Sure she can be childish, and annoying, and clingly and persistant, but yiu just have to love her for that."
"Is she... Is she anything more?"
Weiss stared at her blankly. What was she asking? Did she mean...
"Oh, no. It's nothing like that. Ruby and I are just good friends."
The blind girl blushed, "I'm sorry. That was silly of me to ask. I'm sorry."
"Don't sweat it." Weiss was about to say her goodbyes, when she remembered something. "Hey, before I leave, I just realuzed I never got your name."
"It's Angel. Angel LeBlanc."
"I'm Weiss. Weiss Schnee. It's great to meet you."
"It's lovely to meet you, too, Weiss."
