The next day Michael got out of his new bed around noon and got to work on Melody's World War II paper. Michael was more than happy to do this task for Melody not only because she was his best friend's sister, but because it provided him a nice distraction from Melody's life that he was living. Heck if it weren't for the fact it wasn't his room he'd probably be doing something similar to this anyways. Melody's homework also gave him a good excuse not to go shopping for clothes and sleepover party supplied with Elizabeth when she poked her head into the room. Although he did get a little sad about it when Jeremy popped in and said he was going to go to the mall with Philip and Melody to hang out. Michael made a move to grab his coat but Jeremy informed him with a joking smile that it was a 'guys night out' thing. Michael chuckled kind of sadly and got back to Melody's work.
'I guess it makes sense that Melody gets to hang out with my friends since I'm going to have to have a sleepover with her friends.' Michael thought to himself. He texted Melody to try to get some information about the three girls, but he only got names back. 'She must be busy having fun with Jeremy and Philip.' He thought to himself.
As the day went on Michael thought about faking an illness to get out of this when the doorbell rang and within a few seconds Elizabeth opened the door and three very excited teenage girls barged into his room. Michael put on a smile and greeted the three girls. Michael managed to not screw up the girls names.
The tallest girl was the dancer Mara. She had short blonde hair and was thin and as flat as a board but based on her muscle tone she did not look like someone to take lightly. The next girl was just a few inched shorter with long dirty blonde hair. Based on the school jersey she was wearing it was easy to tell that this was the basketball player Britney, but Michael remembered from Melody's text to him that she usually just went by Brit. And finally there was the cheerleader, she wasn't even 5 feet tall, but what she lacked in height she made up for in other departments. Michael's eyes went a little wide when he saw her, she seemed more...developed than some of the girls in his real class. Michael shook his head and actually looked into the red headed cheerleader who he remembered had the name Rosie.
The three girls gave the fourth masculine and uncomfortable friend a big hug upon seeing him. Elizabeth smiled from the doorway and said, "I'll go order your pizza, you girls go ahead and start the fun, I'll check in with you later."
Everyone polity thanked your current mom and immediately started talking about what they wanted to do first. Brit was first to propose something, "While the sun's still out let's go play some two on two basketball in the driveway. Me and Michael against Rose and Mara."
"No way," Mara said, "I'm too tired from cheer leading practice, besides you and Michael are the strongest and best players. You'd kill us."
"That's kind of the point." Brit said with a cheeky smile, Rosie took a pillow off of Michael's bed and threw it at Brit. "Or we could start with a pillow fight!" This didn't seem like a request as the three girls each armed themselves with pillows, Michael was barely able to dive for a stay one but soon found himself surrounded on all fronts.
'This isn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.' Michael thought happily to himself as he did his best to push back against the pillowing hordes. After a few minutes of fun Michael heard Mara said, "Oh, how about we play some cards? My dad just taught me how to play poker." Michael saw in a moment of horror that Mara had picked up the cards from the purple and pink backback. His first instinct was to shout her down and hide the cards away, but then Michael stopped to think. Maybe the cards shouldn't just be for his group with Josie, Jeremy, and the others. They were his cards and he could use them whenever and however he wanted. Besides if he didn't like how things were going he would just be able to swap back whatever he wanted to eventually.
