This choice: Quickly go back and get the seeds • Go Back... You were nervous about leaving the two fire types behind; especially how the two have been acting this entire time, but you’re so close to completing this test. Surely you can make it there and back before they can do anything. You turn towards the fire types with a stern look. “I’m going to go back and get the seeds. No funny business from either of you two! I won’t be long.” You told them as you started to leave them.
The Houndoom was staring at the fire bird intently, who was staring towards you with a worried look on its face as you entered the boat. You leave the island alone, swallowing the feeling of unease as you rowed as hard as your arms can give. Thanks to being just you, you reached the other side and leapt out of the boat. You see the bag of seeds you left at the spot. All you gotta do is pick it up, bring it back to land and you’re golden. You reach your arms out to scoop it and and as your arms wrapped around it… it went right thru them.
“Huh???” You cried out as the sudden incident caused you to crash into the ground, rolling onto your back. You lifted your head up and rubbed your head. “Owww…” You groaned as you look back at the bag. You crawled over and reached out to it, and saw your hand moving through them. “Why can’t I pick them up.”
“Trying to rush to victory I see?” Felicity’s voice sounded in your mind, disappointment in her tone. “If only you paid more attention to the signs?”
“What are you…” You paused as you turned to the land where you left the two Pokemon at, only for your eyes to widen more as you only see the Houndoom laying on its side, belly round and moving fiercely. A burp sounded from the fire dog, a couple of feathers flying out of its mouth.
You urgently tried to get back up in order to go back and intervene, but then the Houndoom vanished, as well as the island.
“So close, you were.” Her voice rings out once more.
“No wait, one more-” You were cut off as you felt the ground under you slip from under you, leaving you to plummet into the dark abyss. “CHAAAAAAAAAAANCE!!!” your voice rings out as you fell.
----l----
You eyes shot open as you gasped. Instead of an island with a river separating. You seen ruined huts and burned fabrics and discarded furniture. This is the village that you were supposed to reach in order to find the soothsayer.
“Huh? How did we get out here?” Rachael asked as she looked around, looking confused. “We were in a cave? How did we end up outside?” The Buneary saw you and her face fell. “Did you…?”
You gripped your paws tightly as you flung them down in frustration. “I was so close… I thought I had it!” You groaned from the fact you failed. As you calmed down, you felt something in your other paw as you look and saw a note.
‘I regret to inform you that having this means you know you failed my second test…’ The note started, which must’ve been written by either Felicity or her granddaughter who wrote down what she wrote. ‘Mega-Evolution requires a sharp mind, and an open heart. While you demonstrated you have those qualities, you don’t fully grasp them. I don’t offer a second attempt at my exams. I will keep my word and be at the survivor camp that you came from. Hope to see you there.’
You crumble the paper in frustration. “Argh! I almost had it!”
“Don’t feel sad.” You felt someone patting your side and you saw your sister trying to comfort you. You put on a small smile at her in response of that.
“Well at least we got some information. So it’s not a complete waste.” Vargus said, trying to uplift you.
“Shame we won’t be able to see your Mega-form.” Felix shrugged.
“Hey, we found out once, we can do it again.” Kate spoke.
“Yeah, you never know when it might happen again, and we may also find someone who knows about it.” Rachael added.
You smile at their support. You are still rather nervous about your whole quest, and this outcome did hurt as well, but maybe you still might be able to turn this around if you all work together.
“Well since there’s nothing left for us here, then we should-” he gets cut off from finishing his sentence when sounds of something shuffling nearby. Everyone got quiet as they look around their surroundings. Felix heard something nearby and took a couple steps towards it before something dashed towards him. It was so fast that the Grovyle didn’t have enough time to react before being knocked down to the ground. He winces from the impact and the intense heat as he stares up at the burning flames of a Rapidash, who’s holding him down with her hands as her large breast pressed against his chest, salivating with her purple gaze staring right at her new meal.
“Felix!” Vargus cried out, taking a deep breath in preparation of a water attack to douse the horse. Suddenly, he felt his body spasming as he felt a strong electric blast rushing through him. He suddenly falls on his back as he looks and sees an Electabuzz, electricity starting to dissipate from his body as he stares down at him with the same colored gaze as the Rapidash.
Neku was taken back at the two infected attacking at once. He shakes his head as he took one step before suddenly, his eye pupils shrink as he felt something stuck him from behind. His body went limp as he fell to the ground, courtesy of the Kricketune which snuck up behind the Zoroark. His scythes glistening in the light as he looked down on the unconscious fox with violet eyes.
You, Rachael and Kate stare in horror at what’s transpiring. You need to act in order to prevent them from being eaten. Before you could do something, you caught a glimpse of something at your right which when you followed, discovered a Donphan standing there, another infected with purple eyes as he leapt into the air with impressive height. You see that he’s going for your sister before you pushed her and your friend out of the way before he slammed into the ground, forming a small crater which knocked you back into a wall.
The two of them got up and saw that you were struggling to get up before the Domphan stomped on the ground again, earth being pushed upwards and forcing you through the wall. They see you laying on the ground; still conscious, but very weak as the others are not any better as the infected are opening their mouths, preparing to indulge in their hunger for the down Pokémon. Seeing as the situation is hopeless, Rachael grabbed Kate’s hand and ran off in the other direction. You can barely hear your sister’s protest as your ears ring and your vision goes in and out as the Donphan walks towards you.
The faint hope that once filled the area you were in was replaced with fear, despair and finality as your fates are sealed. | Members who added to this interactive story also contributed to these: |
