Jane finds someone else in the woods

As she wandered blindly through the wood, her thoughts again turned to her mad flight. How far had she gone? Would she even be able to find her way back? What if she starved amid this endless maze of trees? She was starting to get tired, and she sat down on a mossy rock to rest for a bit.

She quietly watched a little strand of mist float over the ground, then heard a noise- *Thock.* Perking up, she listened intently... and there it was again.

*Thock.*

She stood and began to walk off toward her right- where she thought the source was. Presently, she found a man chopping wood next to a small cabin in the middle of the woods.

"Er... hello?" She asked quietly, a finger 'neath her nostrils, which were starting to itch.

The man looked up, eyebrows raised. He blinked, looked around, as if to say, 'Is this a joke?' and then nodded a hello.
