I couldn't believe what I saw. The creature looked human, but... it wasn't human. It was a humanoid animal, a fox to be exact, and judging by its chest, it was female. She looked very much like a human, the legs were human like, except ending in paws, it had arms and hands like a human, but it's head was that of a regular fox.
She seems to have noticed me approaching her, as she had turned around to look at me.
"Oh, here Erik." She said, with a smile. Wait... how did she know my name?
"Wha- how do you know me?" I asked. Her smile had disappeared and was now replaced by a frown.
"Wait, you don't remember me?" She asked. "I'm Rachel. Don't you remember?" I was about to tell her no. But then, I was beginning to remember something. I remembered meeting her in a forest, where she was hurt. I had patched her up and we had become friends after that. These memories, they don't feel right, like they aren't true. But I remember them.
"Wait... yeah, I do remember you." I said. Her smile returned to her face.
"That's good." She said as she stood up. I noticed that she seemed to be only five feet tall. She wrapped me up in a hug. After a bit of hesitation, I returned the hug, she appeared to be my friend after all. We both sat down together in the grassy field, watching the stars. It felt... normal, all of this felt normal, but I can't forget that I was in a hospital just moments ago. That may have been unexplainable for some time.
"Hey." Rachel got my attention. "Do you want to go for a walk?" She asked. Seeing no reason in declining, I accepted. As we were both getting up, I noticed something, it was...
