This choice: Trevor grew a little when he was away • Go Back...Chapter #3An Inch or Three by: Jubal "Whoa!"
You stumbled as Trevor gave you a tug; the blankets tangled around your legs. Trevor laughed and swayed back a bit as he halfway picked you up. A few kicks got rid of the blanket, and you grinned as your brother lowered you to the ground, your eyes meeting his, then his nose, his chin...lower...
By the time you were on solid ground, you were staring, shocked, at Trevor's collar bone. That was impossible, Trevor wasn't that much taller than you when he left, and you'd grown at least a little since then. Slowly, you tilted your head up to see your brother smirking down at you.
"I may not have mentioned it," he said with a teasing tone.
"You..." you mumbled, tracking your eyes down to confirm that, yes, he wasn't on tiptoes and damn his feet were big, then all the way back up to meet his amused gaze. Trevor's clothes were new, you noticed; he must have bought some at school. The jerk's smirk stretched into a full-blown grin.
"I may have grown an inch, or so," Trevor continued, lips twitching.
"You grew!" You yelled, hopping back (and almost tripping on the blankets again) and pointing a shaking finger at his face.
Trevor laughed, stuck out his tongue, and pulled down an eyelid. While you gaped at the stupid gesture, he ruffled your hair (ow) and took off toward the garage. Snapping out of it, you scrambled into a set of clothes and tore off after him. A strange car - his rental, probably - was idling inside the open door. You slipped into your shoes and jumped in.
Your brother arched an eyebrow at you as he drove, watching you fidget in your seat. It took three blocks before you cracked.
"How much?" You demanded. No way he didn't actually know.
"Three inches," he admitted, sounding almost surprised to say it, as he pulled onto the highway. "Coach was thrilled; I already had the skills, but now I've got the reach. I knew I'd been gaining weight, but I figured it was just the freshman fifteen. I didn't even think to check my height until I felt my hair brushing along the top of my dorm room door."
"Why didn't you tell me?" You demanded as Trevor parked.
"Well..." your brother gave a half-nervous laugh. | Members who added to this interactive story also contributed to these: |
