Granted, but even though you can choose whom you listen in to and when, it turns out that even your best friends and closest relatives are people whom you don't know. The way they think about things and their true opinions about you, the death penalty, politics, and animal welfare go so against all their own teachings to make you a better person, you stop talking to them and end up lonely in the forest. You can also read animals' minds. That comes in really handy to know ahead of time you're about to be that bear's dinner.
