"Of course, milady." The captain replied. "You four," The captain started, as he motioned towards four soldiers. "You can help me escort the princess back towards the castle. The rest of you shall finish up here, making sure there are no more attackers and tend to any wounded be it soldiers or any former puppets of the warlock." The other soldiers slowly put away their blades, getting ready to search the warlock's camp.
Thinking your best option was to keep quiet, you spend the way back towards the castle answering questions where you could without drawing too much attention to yourself. The captain seemed to be the only one to ask the questions, as when anyone else who tried to speak up was immediately told to keep at attention until you were done being escorted, keeping the skepticism about you being the real princess to a minimum. About halfway through the journey, the captain started commented on how unusually quiet you had become and attempted to help jog memories of being the princess. You attempt to pass it off as being a bit dazed from the possession, and it seemed to satisfy the captain. He started explaining where you were going and how the castle guards two tranquil cities behind it, the town on the edge of riverbanks and an ocean towards the southwest called Ironford. The second city, sitting on the edge of two forests,towards the southeast called Ravenside.
Arriving at the castle, nine strong, round towers have been built on various tactical spots for an ideal defense, connected by firm walls made of light green stone. Refined windows are scattered here and there around the walls in fairly symmetrical patterns, along with symmetric crenelations for archers and artillery. A great gate, with a huge wooden door stands before you and the soldiers. "Raise the gate! We retrieved the princess and wish to bring her to the king." The guard above the gate rushes to open the gate and starts turning the lock, raising the gate. Once the gate is raised and the door is opened the captain dismisses the other solders who were escorting you and personally escorts you to the king's room. The king stood up in disbelief, "My dear sweet daughter, you have been through a terrible experience. The important thing is that you are here now and are safe."
"Yes, father." You responded. "Leave us, I wish to speak to my daughter alone!" The king requested. The captain gave the king a salute and turned towards the door from whence he came. Following behind was a maid, who turned her head back towards you for a minute looking concerned, before shaking it off and continued exiting behind the captain. "Daughter, what had happened to you?"
"We are alone, yes?" You asked, with the king nodding his head. "Yes my dear, we are alone." added the king. "Good." Taking a deep breath, You decide now was a good time as any and just come out with it. "I am not your daughter. I was a guard at a village, before becoming a victim to the dreaded warlock. I saw the many other victims trapped inside his staff waiting to see what would come first: to be fuel to power his dark magic, or to be released back into this world. When the warlock was slain, I was set free along with the rest of the souls that were captured." You begin to explain. "The accursed warlock is no more, then?" the king interjected. "Yes. As for your daughter, if she is still alive, I suspect she had been either looking for her body on the battlefield or became food for one of the warlock's spells. In either case, this had allowed me to take control of her body and got to where we are now." You finish explaining "I see. Very well, we shall talk more about this later. For now, you would do well to not wander around the castle. If I may make a simple request, please try not to mention your predicament to anyone aside from the princess' friends. She was quite fond of talking with the maid that you may have seen, as well as a knight-in-training, I can't recall his name. If you do confide in them, they may be able to help you adjust to your new life for the foreseeable future. "
