George figured that he still had a chance of getting someone's attention. He just needed to make himself visible. His main worry was that people would mistake him for a bug, but he'd just have to try to figure out a way to make them realize that he was a person. Once he got someone to notice him and recognize him as a person, he'd almost certainly be safe. Maybe he'd eventually return to his normal size.

After half an hour had passed, George could hear the amplified sound of footsteps approaching. Someone was finally coming in. But who was it this time?
