As Jane, James was not going to make it very far but he didn't have to be Jane. He could just find one of the workers hired by the mayor's family and he would be able to go wherever he wanted. Walking around the compound, he soon spotted an elderly gardener trimming away dutifully at a hedge. Walking closer, James called out to him as he snipped away. The gardener looked up in surprise and waved back, wondering what the pretty lady could possibly want with an old man like him.
James walked until the only thing separating the two of them was the metal railings and the hedge. "Hi," he began.
The old man tipped his hat towards James as a form of greeting, "Good afternoon ma'am."
"I was wondering, could you help me with something?"
"I'm not entirely sure ma'am but I'll try my best."
"Well, you should at least know my name, I'm Jane," James said as he stuck his hand through the railing.
The old man was a bit surprised but took the bait and shook her hand vigorously. Seizing the opportunity, James quickly transferred from Jane into the old man.
After getting over the initial nausea, James looked up now as the old man to see the woman looking around, confused.
"Thanks for the lift lady!" James said in his host's new gruff voice as he chuckled to himself. Stroking his new beard, he carelessly dropped the clippers on the ground and started making his way towards the house.
