Chapter #2

Ali - The Rising Star of the Academy

by: Bobo the Hobo Author IconMail Icon
The dorms in St. Gijinka's Academy for Young Moemon, building D are prone to short circuiting.

Whether it be due to shoddy wiring in that particular building or due to the large population of electric type students that had populated that area for the past four years, it always seemed that at least once a week the building's power would flicker for a bit before going dead for a complete thirty seconds; only to turn back on not even a minute later. Those who have been living here for some time have learned not to rely on things like alarm clocks or radios to wake them up in the morning. However, this is a habit developed out of necessity, and often enough the students don't even notice it anymore. So its only natural that when someone fills in an empty slot in the dorm rooms, they find it a little hard to adjust at first...

"Aliiiii..." a hum from her bedroom door sounded as her roommate quietly tiptoed her way into the Quilava's den. Outstretching an arm to rouse her slumbering friend, the good natured intruder gave the smaller girl an innocent nudge. "Hmmm..." she sounded as she looked over the sleeping body of her little buddy. Clearly Ali hadn't taken her warnings and had gotten little to no sleep last night. Placing her elbow in the palm of her hand and nestling her chin into the groove between her index finger and thumb, Fontina let out a low grumble, "Oh gosh, I told her not to stay up so late." she chastised the slumbering moemon. "Aliii... come on, wake up." Fontina pleaded as she continued to poke and prod at Ali's unmoving form. "Omigosh, do you think she's... no, she couldn't be!" at once Fontina's fiction-riddled brain took siege over her normally rational way of thinking, "Oh no, she's dead! Her heart must have given out from all the excitement of coming to St. Gijinka's!!" she wailed, "Oh how could this have happened to her?!"

With all of Fontina's blabbering, it was no shock when Ali's petite shape rolled over underneath the covers, mumbling quietly to herself in her sleep. "Ali?!" Fontina rushed to her side as she soon realized that her friend was not in fact, dead, "You're alive!" Fontina squealed with glee as she quickly roused the girl up into a sitting position in her sleep.

"Ugh... was I not supposed to be?" Ali yawned as she rubbed her heavy eyelids. "What time is it?"

Fontina was snapped back to reality as she remembered just what it was she came into Ali's room to do anyway. "Oh, its um...9" she said meekly, lips narrowing in her embarrassment, "I figured that I should wake you up before I left."

There was a full three seconds of silence between the two of them. Slowly, Ali's dark eyes widened as her sleep raddled brain processed the number she had just been given. "9." she repeated in a dull, almost monotonous voice. "Uh... yeah..." Fontina smiled sheepishly as she noticed Ali's knuckles whiten. She took a step back away from the bed as she anticipated what was sure to come.

Sure enough: "HOLY CRAP, NINE IN THE FREAKING MORNING?!" Ali shouted as she tore off her blankets and rushed towards the bathroom. "Well you just looked so peaceful!" Fontina cooed apologetically as she watched Ali ready herself in their restroom. "And you couldn't have woken me up!?" she snapped back, sending fracture lines running up her toothbrush and a little ember from her mouth. "Well, I had just came back from the library and Midnight told me not to..." Fontina shied away as Ali returned to furiously beating the plaque away from her teeth with her toothbrush. "crap, Crap, CRAP!!" Ali hollered as she pulled off her yellow nightie and grabbed one of her many red-plaid skirts from her closet, "Great, no time for a shower... ugh, whore's bath in the sink!" she instructed aloud as she grabbed the soap and washcloth and began rubbing herself down with both of them. "Ali, just calm down!" Fontina pleaded, "I'm sure there's plenty of time to get you some breakfast before second period starts-

"Don't talk to me for the rest of the morning!" Ali spat fervently as she attempted to brush her teeth, comb her hair, and bathe herself at the same time. Finally she reached something somewhat decent. Not perfect, but decent. She pulled up her skirt, grabbed her pullover, rolled up the sleeves, got some socks, and slipped on her shoes before she started towards the door. She was stopped just at the doorway by her longtime friend, Fontina; her heavy breasts smooshing right into Ali's face. "Ali slow down." Fontina chided calmly as she held the little spitfire at arm's length, "No one's going to be mad if you miss your Freshman Orientation."

Ali glared, only to be met with Fontina's kindly smile. She didn't really have a choice in the matter; Fontina may have been a bookworm, but all those hours lifting books in the library had made her pretty strong! The small moemon took a deep breath and exhaled warmly. "There, good." Fontina said in a motherly tone, "Look, you've gone and undone all the hard work you did on your hair." Fontina teased as she fixed the loose strands that Ali had left untouched in her hurry.

She was a pretty girl by all means, whore's bath or not. With tanned skin, a small frame, and a lovely face. Her jaw was small but sturdy, and her complexion usually clear as crystal. Her hair was predominately black, but grew gradually more of a burgundy as one reached the tips. But most of all; she was short. Like, really short. Four foot ten. It was really kinda cute actually, but her total lack of curves got her mistaken for a boy quite a lot. Fontina could only smile as she remembered the days when she was just a little cyndaquil moemon tugging at her skirt. But now, here she was; all grown up and enrolled in the very Academy of which she herself was about to graduate.

"Thanks Fontina." Ali said apologetically, "I'm sorry, its just... I'm all wound up for today..."

She smiled up into Fontina's glasses and caught reflection of herself; all grown up and in school. The same school her mother, father, and brother had gone to when they were her age. It was a really humbling experience. "I understand. I was exactly the same way when I was a freshman." Fontina said with a distinct tone of nostalgia in her voice, "I think all of us are... um, anyway, go on and get to orientation!" Fontina urged, back to her rather excitable self, "Or... what's left of it." she smiled sheepishly, "Again, I'm really sorry for not waking you up sooner." she oozed.

"It's cool!" Ali said as she stormed out the door...

...before poking her head back in the door with an intimidatingly blank expression on her face:

"But if you ever let me sleep in that late again, I'll pop your bubble boobies with a fork."
