After Shampoo’s great-grandmother splashes Ranma with cold water everyone holds their breath but when the water touches Ranma he remains in his female, or Ranko, form.
"Huh that should have worked future-son-in-law, Cologne said turning back to the recipe for the cure, leaving Shampoo to get hot water to change him back. After getting the water Shampoo throws it at Ranma. "Wait whatever you do, do not hit future-son-in-law with hot water,” Cologne shouts just as the hot water hits Ranma. Everyone gasp as the hot water has no effect on Ranma as he stands there still as a girl. Seeing Ranma drenched in hot water Cologne cries out, "Now he will never be my future-son-in-law."
"What do you mean great-grandmother?" Shampoo asked.
"Well it seems after further reading that to get rid of the cursed body the cure must be drunk in that body so that when they are splashed the form that drank the cure would be washed away," Cologne said to horrified looks.
"You mean I am going to remain a girl forever?" Ranma asked.
"Well no," Cologne said, "but you will never be a guy again."
