He misses, hitting Alex's 7-year-old brothe...

Tom returned to the window, wand in hand, ready to use it on his friend. He saw Alex make another turn with the mower, as he approached the front porch, where his younger brother Michael was playing with a couple of action figures.

Being impatient to see the wand in action, Tom quickly pointed it in the general direction of his friend and flicked his wrist. He was surprised when a white beam shot out of the tip like a bullet and made its way towards Alex’s front yard. But it travelled at an awkward angle and struck Michael instead.

Tom watched in amazement as the 7 year old started his transformation. Michael’s shoulders thickened and became more defined, while his chest swelled outward. His biceps and triceps started to grow, stretching the sleeves of his shirt. Michael’s legs were next, his calves becoming diamond shaped, while his quads and hamstrings started pressing against his pants legs.

Neither brother seemed to notice the fact that Michael had just gained a little over 30 pounds of solid muscle. He was still playing with his toys, oblivious to anything else happening around him, it seemed, while Alex continued mowing the yard.

Tom wondered what was going on. Then it dawned on him: “The wand must be able to alter reality somehow,” he said, as a sly grin spread across his face.

He rushed out of his bedroom and down the stairs, going out onto the front porch. He looked next door and raised the wand. Tom knew how it worked now. He pointed it at ________and fired.
