The four teens wandered into the small grocery store while the oldest had a small piece of paper with a shopping list in her hand.
“Mom said we needed to get some protein bars and a gallon of milk!” Sandra stated.
“Milk? Why can’t we just get a few bottles of Gatorade?” Nick wondered.
“Mom says that milk is good for our bones, especially since we’re all playing soccer this year!” Sandra explained as she reached down and removed a carton of milk from the shelf in the large cooler. Nick, Julie and Erin followed closely behind them as Sandra pushed the shopping cart down the aisle where the protein bars were, before they proceeded to the checkout counter.
Sandra was oldest and the tallest, at age 15 and standing 5-foot-9. She had long blonde hair which was always tied up in a long ponytail. She was tall and athletic and with her long legs, she had been playing soccer ever since she was 3 years old.
Nick was Sandra’s younger brother, at age 13, he was 5-foot-3 and he had short, straight, jet black hair but he was still in good shape. Skinny and short but he was still athletic, and he loved soccer and baseball.
Julie was 14, at 5-foot-4, she was a little heavier than Nick, but she wanted to play soccer just to stay in shape. She had short, black hair which was a bit curly.
Lastly, there was Erin, at age 15, who was 5-foot-5 and rather athletic as well. She just got started in soccer and she joined because Sandra was her best friend in school.
The foursome walked over to Sandra and Nick’s house, where they sat down on the couch and relaxed before heading out to the public park where the soccer fields were located.
All four of them had at least one glass of milk before they left for practice. The walk to the park was only 5 minutes and they were all wearing their soccer gear, including their socks, jerseys, shin guards and cleats.
Once they arrived at the park, they began to feel the effects of the tainted milk, which they had consumed a few minutes earlier.
Who started to grow and become the first to gain some added muscle?
