When Jake woke up the next morning, he felt an unusual stiffness throughout his entire body. His joints, his muscles, everything felt incredibly stiff and weird.
“Uhhmmmm” he moaned, as the eight year-old boy rubbed his eyes. Somehow, as he moved his legs, he realized that his feet were sticking out from the other end of the bed.
His shirt felt tight, not to mention his shorts. His pants were far too tight on him as well! It was like his clothes had shrunk on him overnight! What was going on? As he slowly rolled out of bed, he noticed that his body felt heavier than before. As he looked down, he realized that his legs seemed… longer?
Then he stumbled towards the mirror, wiping the sleep from his eyes. Then, he opened his eyes again, and his room looked totally different. Everything seemed smaller! What was going on?
Suddenly, Jason came barging in his room.
“Wake up, sleepyhead! You’re…” he said, until he froze. “What the heck!”
Jason let out a loud gasp when he saw his brother standing before him. Suddenly, he realized that his 8 year-old brother had experienced a tremendous growth spurt overnight. He was now looking UP to him.
“Hey Jason… You’ve shrunk… Or have I gotten taller?” Jake chuckled in his usual voice, before he walked up to his older brother, who was just standing there with his jaw wide open. For the first time ever, Jake was looking down at his older brother by almost six inches! Jake was almost six feet tall!
“Awesome! I’m like way taller than you!” Jake cheered. “I guess I’m the big bro now, little bro!”
“What…. How… Nobody grows that fast! How did this happen?” Jason wondered.
Jake places his hands under Jason’s armpits before he gently lifted his smaller brother off the floor, keeping his feet dangling above the ground.
“Hey! Not only am I bigger than you, but I’m stronger than you, too, little bro!” Jake chuckled, in his high-pitch voice.
Jason couldn’t believe it! His little bro had sprouted muscle and these long arms and legs overnight! Now, he was holding him suspended in mid air like a rag doll!
“I’m the big bro from now on, even though I’m younger than you! Isn’t that great?” Jake laughed, as he set Jason down on the floor.
Jason could only wonder what was going to happen next…
