A few months after Sozin's comet passed over, Toph was just outside her home town. She was just about to walk in, when she felt something familiar. She felt a large hole near her, which made her smile to herself. She remembered when she was little that she should never enter this cave no matter what. Her parents never wanted her to go anywhere anyway, but they seemed particularly worried about this cave.
"Hmmph, I helped save the world, I deserve to see what's in there." She said simply. She then walked into the cave, and walked deeper and deeper until she felt something that wasn't earth. It was like earth, but much harder. "Must be some kind of crystal."
If she could read (or, in other words, see.), she would have seen writing on the wall that said "Keep away from the Crystal of Gluttons. You have been warned."
Toph grabbed the crystal, and suddenly she felt something coursing through her. It felt strong, powerful, and other things that she couldn't find words for. Soon, the crystal began to absorb itself into Toph's skin! Once it did, Toph felt...
