"Yes." you lie. "I believe you."

"You do." she doesn't seem to fully accept your change of heart but cheers up.

"Yes." you repeat, hoping to move onto another subject before you give her reason to get upset again.

"But you said that only children believe in that stuff." Something about her smile makes you slightly concerned. "Just how young would you have to be to believe in witches?"

"I didn't mean it." you say, trying to avoid wherever this discussion is heading.

"No really." she insists. "Would 10 be young enough?"
