Matt finally arrives at his son's bedroom and leaves his pair of shoes besides his door while he's focused on playing video games, telling him "I'll be out for some hours, but you're already 13 years old, I'm sure you'll know how to take care of yourself", before going out of the room. The brown skinned preteen named Darryl only paused his game when he heard his dad go outside, and still being bare footed he walked towards his shoes, each of his steps making Josh feel like an earthquake was getting stronger as a giant figure soon covered his vision.
