Stealthily you scurry over to the basement door and slip down into the dark, making sure to shut the door firmly beehind you. For a few seconds you fumble about for the light, then your fingers find a chain and you pull it. Your jaw drops. You knew she was some sort of a brain but never....
The room you step down in to is a fully functional laboratory. Its computers and monitering stations seemed to be oriented around a central compartment similar in dimensions to a phone booth. As you walked closer you are reminded of the movie the fly where the inventor builds chambers to teleport matter with disasterous results. In this lab there is only one, however. Resisting your better judgement you walk inside, “roomy,” you say to noone in particular. As you turn about, you lay your hand on the wall and sudenly the door slides shut upon you. You raise your hand observing with dread the red button that sits underneath. Powercells hum to life and the chamber becomes charged with enough static to stand your hair on end. “This is the end,” you think as the hum of the power cells crest to a peak. A bright flash fills the room, followed by darkness.
