Swing your knife as soon as you are in range

You charge at the girl, as she tenses herself and prepares to counter attack. As soon as you are in range, you suddenly stop and swing your knife. The girl is caught off guard by your sudden change in momentum, and you manage to cut her arm. She gasps in pain, and takes a step back, preparing to fight you. How do you fight?
