Chapter #6

Luna's Luckless Lunch

    by: Unknown
As the saliva-drenched cavern of Luna's mouth tilted backward, Harry scrambled uselessly against her tongue, desperate to stop his inexorable descent into the abyss of her waiting throat. To Luna however, Harry's frantic pleading registered as no more than faint, pleasant vibrations against the back of her tongue as he slipped further and further, losing what little purchase he had.

"Luna! Luna this is insane! These Gibbly-whatevers probably aren't even real! Please, you have to let me g–"

Eyes closed in characteristic nonchalant bliss, Luna gave a heavy gulp that silenced Harry's protests as a veritable tidal wave of slime and undulating esophageal muscle carried him down into smothering darkness. Whatever hopes Harry might've had of grabbing Luna's uvula and clinging to it for dear life were immediately dashed. Like a some field mouse morsel winding its way through a predatory snake, Harry was squeezed from all sides, blinded as his body was massaged deeper and deeper. His wand lost in all the chaos, he thrust his hands outward in a vain attempt to slow his ill-fated journey, but it was no use.

A sudden pressure around his feet and ankles momentarily halted Harry's progress until, with a noisy squelch and subsequent 'plop', the boy-who-lived was squished through a tight sphincter and then deposited unceremoniously into Luna's stomach. Stumbling head-over-heels as he fell, Harry landed wetly in what felt like a foot or so of pungent, foul-smelling gunk – the viscous contents of Luna's stomach.

Sheer icy panic gripping his heart, barely able to breathe, and completely blind, Harry's mind was racing. How long was Luna going to leave him here? How long could he even survive this insanity? The promised 'green glow' of whatever mystical gremlins Luna had thought were infesting her stomach were entirely absent. Harry almost wished they were real, if only to give him some light...

Meanwhile, Luna was completely unfazed by the predicament she had placed Harry in. Ascending the stairs from the Gryffindor Common Room and up into her room, the fluttery student sat down at her desk and pulled out a scroll, quill, and inkwell to work on an outstanding Divination writing assignment. She imagined brave Harry selflessly exterminating the Gubblie-Nilmeks in her poor stomach and smiled to herself. Harry was, after all, such a good and dependable friend.

Flipping a small hourglass on its head to remind her to let Harry out later, she dipped her quill and began writing...
