You were training near home together with your partner and friend Pichu.
Pichu has been your friend since you met, you have been training a lot with him so that one day he will evolve into a powerful Pikachu and finally start your Pokemon journey together.
You were too young, but you were waiting to grow up so you could start your journey to the region together with your best friend.
The training was hard today, but when it was over you felt strong and happy with the results.
Everything was going well when a distant light coming from deeper in the forest began to shine, catching the attention of both of you.
Curious, you went out to find out what this light was, penetrating deep into the forest.
Walking together, ensuring that one would be there to protect the other, you and Pichu arrive at the receiver of the bright light.
It was a small sphere, smaller than a berry, that shone a multicolored but bright and strong light.
"What is that?" you asked yourself as you looked at the strange object together with Pichu.
You didn't know what that was or what, but you understood that it wouldn't be a good idea to touch or interact with the glowing sphere, it would be better to leave it in the hands of an adult.
"Maybe... it's better to leave it to the older people, don't you think, Pichu?" You ask Pichu, but when you look, you realize that she is no longer by your side.
"Pichu?" You are surprised by Pichu's disappearance, but when you look ahead you notice that Pichu was holding that colorful sphere in his paws, he is very curious and didn't know how to contain himself.
"Pichu, no! Drop it!" You say, but Pichu was so vibrant with colors that he didn't even hear your warnings.
Then, in an act of pure curiosity or madness on Pichu's part, he puts the sphere in his mouth! And before you can do anything, you hear a gulp coming from Pichu...
He swallowed the glowing orb.
You were silent and amazed, you didn't expect it, but then a silence came from Pichu, a silence that was starting to scare you.
"P-Pichu?" You call him. Pichu, after eating the beady sphere, had his head down, started to lift it up and look at you... he opened his mouth a little, it seemed like he was saying something and then-
"BUUURRRRPPPP!" Pichu lets out a big burp!
"Wow..." You didn't expect that. To be honest, you were expecting something macabre or scary and not a... burp.
"Are you... okay, Pichu?" You ask the Pokemon who, after burping, coos at you with a friendly smile.
"Okay... then I think we better go home"
"Pichu!"
Pichu was walking towards you to climb on your shoulder when he suddenly stopped.
"Pichu? Something wrong?" You say when you see Pichu stop abruptly.
"Seriously, this isn't funny" You say, but Pichu remains silent again.
"Pichu what happened-" Out of nowhere Pichu started to shake and then float.
"But what?!" You looked scared to see Pichu floating and shining multicolor. His eyes turned white along with his fur as a greater glow covered his entire body.
A soft moan came out of her mouth as everything seemed to get brighter and brighter!
You were horrified to see that and shouted for Pichu asking him to stop or go back and then there was a flash!
Everything went white...
You covered your eyes until the light went out, and then you opened them, only to see that Pichu was no longer there...
"P-Pichu?" You called out to your partner, but no response was heard.
"Pichu?!" You started to tear up when you saw that Pichu had not disappeared brightly or even dead.
"PICHU!" You cry. Your best friend... disappeared.
...
Months passed after the incident...
You had returned home and told your parents everything about what had happened, at first they thought it was your imagination that there was a small, colorful and shiny sphere in the middle of the forest, but they got worried when they heard that Pichu was missing.
The police and the Pokemon Rangers were called and for months they investigated the case of Pichu missing in the forest, but the only clue they had was their report that seemed more fiction than reality and a burn spot found in the forest where Pichu had disappeared.
After that, they found nothing... and the case was closed.
Theories arose and one of them said that Pichu ran away from you, which wasn't true because you were the reason, because in theory you would be a bad trainer and Pichu would have taken the chance that they were in the forest to get away from you. You contested all of them, especially this one, your parents even defended you saying that you and Pichu were close, but there were others who didn't believe it.
But it made you think... were you really a good trainer for Pichu? Could it be that he didn't like you and was just pretending because he was afraid? Thinking about it made you shaken and a little depressed.
After Pichu's case closed, nothing was the same, you didn't feel happy like before, just sad and tired.
Your parents did everything to make you happy until they found you a new Pokemon, maybe a new Pichu, but you said you don't want any new Pokemon or new Pichu, you want your Pichu and no one could replace it.
Nobody could.
Nobody...
You even put up lost posters on Pichu in case anyone recognizes themselves, but nothing so far.
Time has passed since then. You were in the same place where you were training with Pichu before that light appeared and then disappeared with him.
Shaken, you looked, trying to remember the best moments you had in your life together, it was about time to get over that, and you were kind of taking steps towards it.
"Pichu..." You tear up, "I wouldn't give it to you just one more time..."
You swallow crying and decide to return home when a distant sound came.
"Pi!" a little scream comes from behind you
A cry... from a Pokemon? But it was so familiar, was it?
"That sound is not possible..."
You look back and then you see a Pichu.
"Pi!"
You stay quiet and watch, is it possible, but he disappeared right in front of you... it must be someone else but...
"...Pi...chu?" You call his name and then Pichu smiles.
That smile is impossible not to recognize.
"Pichu... is that really you?" you ask Pichu as tears come out of his eyes.
"Pi!" He starts walking towards you.
"Pichu..." You start walking towards Pichu too.
"Pi!" It increases speed.
"Pichu." You too.
"Chu!" He runs!
"Pichu!" You run too!
You run from one to the other, close enough for Pichu to jump at you and you catch him.
"Pichu!" You hug your Pokemon, crying not believing what you were seeing but happy and seeing him maybe a dream or not that was too good to not want to wake up.
"Pichu, I thought I lost you..." You cry as Pichu rubs against you.
"But... how? What happened? I thought you had died, been disintegrated... but you're here... in one piece." Pichu smiles when he sees that you were worried about him.
"But... but that doesn't matter anymore, you're here now and that's all that matters... I love you, Pichu." You say, hugging Pichu tighter.
"I love you too, Y/N!" Pichu responds.
Wait...WHAT?!
You stop hugging at that moment and look at Pichu a little confused... did he just speak?
"Pichu, did you just... talk?"
Pichu smiles at you.
"Yes! Can you understand me now?"
"WHA THA!" You are shocked, Pichu has never been able to speak before!
"What, how, is this-" You were confused while Pichu was laughing at the situation.
"Is this a dream?" You ask yourself.
"Um I don't think so, if it were, I would say something like: Monday there's a school test, just to see you wake up in a panic, he-he" Pichu replies amusingly, even though he can speak, there was no doubt that your Pichu would say something like that.
Were you lost what to say?
"Pichu, but how did you-"
"Y/N I know you have a lot of questions and I promise to answer most of them, but first let's go home... I'm hungry." Pichu rubs his belly, a sign that he is hungry.
"Oh, but of course, of course."
You went home, at that moment your parents left and would return later, until then they left cookies and food for you in case you needed something to eat, and so it was.
You grabbed a jar of cookies and went to your room together with Pichu. There You gave the cookies to the hungry Pichu, who ate them heartily.
"That's perfect!" Pichu spoke with his mouth full, but soon swallowed everything after seeing that it was bad to talk about food in his mouth.
You both looked at each other waiting for a response from the other until...
