Chapter #6Bowser's Transformative Journey by: Mr.Domino   It was another horrible day in the Koopa Kingdom. Bowser, king of all Koopas, was sulking on his throne, a full month after his last defeat and foiling of kidnapping Princess Peach. It had been an elaborate plan as well, Bowser had pulled out all the stops. A distraction in the Mushroom Kingdom's Castle, raiding the magical stars, reviving the painting worlds before enlisting the help of many of his other allies. But once again the red plumber had smashed his way through all obstacles, grabbed Bowser by the tail, and sent the Koopa King flying off into a lava lake once more. And here Bowser sat, scowling and alone, the lava burns slowly healing. Just like the last time. And the time before that. And the time before that.
Every. Single. Time.
It was clear to Bowser he was going about it the wrong way. The blunt force method was no longer an option, they either saw him coming and got too prepared for it to work, or Mario just smashed his way to the Princess. No, it was time for a different way. Stealthier. Sneakier. A way that got him into the Mushroom Kingdom and close to Peach with anyone realizing it. But Bowser was, admitingly, a rather large reptile. The ground shook when he walked and his brightly colored scales and shell made him stand out like a Yellow Yoshi in Donut Land. There was no way that Bowser would ever be able to able to pull off a stealthy infiltration as he was.
That was why, in the last week after pulling himself out of the lava, gone about finding the smartest Koopas in his kingdom and tasking them to finding a way to make him look different. It had taken some time, but results were expected today.
Or else.
As if summoned by his thoughts, the massive red doors at the far end of Bowser's throne room swung open, and a single Koopa Troopa in a white lab coat came hustling in as fast as it's little legs could carry it. After crossing the huge throne room, the Koopa finally stopped before Bowser's throne, where the turtle collapsed out of breath.
"Well?" Bowser growled, refusing to give the underling a chance to rest. There would be no rest while Peach remained in her castle and Bowser remained alone. "Have you done what I asked?"
"Guh" The Koopa Troopa gasped as it pushed itself up off the floor, "Y-yes, sire. Puh-Please follow me!" The lab-coated turtle then turned and headed back the way it had entered. Bowser glared at the Troopa's backside for a moment before rising out of his throne and stomping along behind it, just close enough to intimidate the much smaller creature.
After a few minutes of silent walking through the halls of his castle, the lab Koopa and Bowser entered the small laboratory that held the newly formed 'Koopa Kingdom Research and Development Division', essentially a spare dungeon that had been rapidly converted for scientific purposes. On one of the three tables were various items; one was entirely mechanical, strange devices that lay in a pile of loose parts. Another was a maze of glass and vials of glowing liquid, while another was covered in a variety of magical items from across the world. Not that he trusted these Koopas to figure out anything that his sorcerer, Kaemk, hadn't already failed to discover.
"My lord Bowser" The lab Koopa intoned, pointing to each table with a stubby clawed hand, "Each of these tables contains a multitude of items that will aide in your quest to infiltrate the Mushroom Kingdom. They will change you from your current, majestic form to sometihng that would arose less suspicion. They await your choosing"
Bowser merely swatted the lab Koopa out of the way as he lurched further into the room, staring at each of the three tables intensely as he made his choice.   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
