He sat down on the bed beside her, still nude from the waist down and thought for a few moments.
“How do you know?” He asked.
“I’m about a week late for my period.” She told him.
“Have you done a test?” He asked once more, a glint of hope appearing in his eyes.
“No, but I’ve been regular up until now.” She said, he thought for a few more moments.
“Right, here's the plan. My mum keeps some tests in her bathroom so I’ll go grab one of those. You can do it in my bathroom. From there if it’s positive we need to tell at least my parents. Yours don’t know we have had sex do they?” He stated then asked.
“No, I told my mum there were like 4 people over today.” Shea confirmed, a pit opened up inside her. She had been so preoccupied with how Markus would react that she hadn’t stopped to consider her parents.
“Ok, we can deal with that can of worms later. First, let me get some underwear and jeans on and I’ll go grab a pregnancy test.” He got up and Shea couldn’t help but watch his cute bum as he put on some boxer shorts and pulled back up his jeans from earlier. He left the room and returned a minute or two later with a pregnancy test in hand. She took it from him and went into the bathroom.
Nervously, she peed on the stick and capped it off. She left it on the bathroom shelf beneath the mirror and went back in to hug her boyfriend. It helped settle her fluttering heart, being in her boyfriend's warm embrace. After 15 minutes had passed they both entered the bathroom and looked at the test together.
“Positive…” Shea trailed off as the small spark of hope that she had kindled within herself died. Ultimately though she knew she was expecting this. She turned to see what Markuses expression was and was surprised to see a flash of glee before it faded into the concern that had been prevalent since her revelation. Brushing it off as a trick of the light she hugged him and began crying softly. It was all a bit too much for her right now.
After a good hour of snuggling and crying, Shea finally worked up the courage to ask her boyfriend probably the most important question.
