Tommy had awoken in the middle of the night for the past week. This night, however, a terrible storm was rocking his house, the tree just outside his second story bedroom window; making the leaves and branches bang against it, which woke him. He wasn't scared of the dark he knew there was no such thing as monsters or spooks. He was terrified of his imagination, though. Whenever it was pitch black in his room, Tommy's imagination had fun teasing him about what frightening things could potentially be lurking in the blackness; it was this that scared him out of his wits, and made him unwilling to move, only turn over and bury his face in his pillow. It took a long time to slow his heartbeat down enough to stop pumping blood, keeping him awake.
He woke up at 8:00 in the morning, feeling like he hadn't slept at all. He was scared to go back to sleep, though, inn case he had that nightmare again... He didn't want to see the truth again. He knew something was wrong this morning; he didn;t hear the usual sounds of his mom making breakfast. He wiped the sleep from his eye, and weent downstairs.
He entered the kitchen from the hallway, and found it vacant. "Mom," Tommy called, going back upstairs to his mom's room, figuring she overslept. He opened her door, "mom", he called again. He examined the bedsheet, it had a lump in the middle of it. Tommy pulled back the covers to find his mom, only tiny. "Mom!!! What happened to you?"
"I don't know, I woke up this size! Help me!!!"
Tommy thought "Well, of course I will", he said with a grin.
