You decide that for your first match, you should go up against someone whom you have a chance agsinst. This proves to be quite challenging, as you tend to watch predominantly action-focused shows, and the heroines in them would be more than capable of wiping the floor with someone of your own abilities.
After giving it a lot of thought, you decide to go with Nia, the blue-haired beauty of Team Gurren. Although her teammates are all powerful freedom fighters who have a lot of combat experience, Nia is more soul and support for the team. You don't recall her ever getting into a fight outside of Lagann, but you do recall her getting captured before.
Once you write down her name and hand it to the man behind the counter, he grins and says, "ah, that's a good choice! You can go through the open door straight behind you." You turn, and sure enough, there's a door just like he said. You turn around and quickly walk through, your body full of nervous energy.
The room itself is empty and featureless apart from the girl in its middle, who is sitting cross legged with her eyes shut. She appears to be in her early twenties, but she still seems really innocent and serene. After you give a little cough to indicate your arrival, she starts and rises to her feet. Now that she's standing, you get a better look at her; both her puffy blue hair and her silky pink dress go midway down to her shin, right above a pair of red heels.
"Ummm," she starts, "I'm sorry for not being ready to greet you. I was just doing some thinking. I'm Nia. Are you here to wrestle me?"
Now it's you turn to stumble over your words. "Uh, yeah, um it's a pleasure to meet you. That's what I'm here for. Would you like to begin?"
Nia smiles. "Sure. But first... would you like me to take it easy on you?"
