"Okay class. Now you be safe this weekend and make sure you do your readings! I know that the night is still young, but I don't want to hear any issues with completing the assignment I gave you on Ancient Rome". You smile charmingly at your small class of undergraduate students.
"Mr. Berns aren't you going to do anything fun?" said one younger student in the back of the class.
"Me? I may be old, but I have my date with my local bartender like you. And no, it's none of your business where. I need to have my own special place to kick back as well!". You motioned the class off and gave goodbyes to your students. You enjoyed seeing their youth and optimism. You certainly still had those except for turning 65. As the last student left, you looked down at your growing belly with interest.
"Seems like I also have a belly with growing enthusiasm as well!" You give it a nice slap and start to pack your own things.
"Mr. Berns?"You look over to see one of your students at the door.
"Oh Rob! How is your thesis writing going?" Rob was one of your graduate students. He had been busy all week on this thesis.
"Good so far. I should have it done over the weekend".
You smile, "Make sure to have fun! I'm proud of you. I don't want to have you sleepy on Monday".
"Absolutely! But I came by to drop this off. Mr. Sato got me this item from his recent excavation over in China. He said you would be interested in it"
Rob pulled out an intricate looking box from his other satchel for you to look at. You pull on your spectacles and peer at the box with interest.
"Aw, a very old but intricate box from the 5th century! A very rare find indeed".
Rob smiled, "Well, I thought the same. I was wondering if you could give it a look over. I wanted to see what you could find with it".
You begin look at the inscriptions on the box with interest. You read something about the passing of time, youth, age, and transfer. But nothing clear. Some of the writing had worn off.
"The writing is a bit worn and confusing. I can do some cross referencing with my other artifacts to see what it likely means. Have you opened it at all?"
"Nope, just got it".
