You decide to make some tea with the lamp....

"You try rubbing it for kicks?" John laughed.
"No, but we could give it a shot", replied Abdul.
"Sure, I'll do it!". You walk over to the lamp and pick it up. It's surface was ornate but cold to the touch. You smile with excitement as you rub the side. After a few moments, you realize nothing was happening.
"Well darn John! I wish something would have happened", Abdul walked over to you and patted your shoulder.
"Aw, it's not so bad. We can make some tea from this".
Abdul's eyes grew wider, "Oh, shall we? I have a new brew we can try!"
You walk with Abdul to the back of the shop where he turns on the stove and places the lamp on top while he places some tea leaves inside. You both talk for what seemed like an hour before the tea was finally ready. Abdul added some sugar and milk to the cup and poured a generous amount of the tea for you both. You took a sip and enjoyed the mixture of milk and strong tea in your mouth. It truly was a great blend of tea. But as you talked with Abdul, you noticed something strange happening. What was it?
