In one gulp Bowser gulped down the Cherry much to everyone's shock. After he swallowed it he waited as did everyone else.
"Hmm..that's not as gross as I thought it would be.." Bowser muttered.
"My liege what did you do?" The Koppa scientist cried. However before Bowser could respond, his body started to glow as he was engulfed in a bright light. The Koppa scientist shielded his eyes as the light enveloped the whole room.
Bowser meanwhile was trying his best to focus. He had used the double cherries before when he made copies of himself to tried to capture the fairies but this was different. While those clones were literally duplicates of himself that he controlled like a hive mind, this was different. He could feel like his own power and life force was being split to make this one. Alongside the shared life force he also saw memories of himself start to surface and flash before his eyes. He almost panicked wondering if he was losing them before something told him to calm down. His memories were only being copied for his new clone.
Bowser had sincerely hoped this would work and he didn't make a mistake like that vacuum mushroom incident with Fawful. He had eaten the Cherry not just so he could have his own version of Peach, but so that Bowser Jr. and the Koopalings would finally have a mother figure. He had tried and hoped Peach would be a good one but that plan flopped. And there really wasn't anyone else he could really trust, Rosalina nah last time he messed with her he got stuck in a black hole. So perhaps maybe the best person to help him raise the kids was himself.
