"Follow me, we're going to Devon's place." Alison replied as Cindy removed her damaged shoe and stuffed it into her purse next to her gun. "Devon's? Isn't that like, 3-4 blocks south of here?" She asked as she tried zipping her overstuffed purse closed. "Yeah, the big place with the rows of palm trees and the big fountain out front." Alison replied as they moved down the alleyway towards the street. "Shouldn't we use my car then? Thats a long way to walk and I've still got my keys." Cindy asked as they both crouched down next to an abandoned car that had run into the side of a building. "No, there isn't that many and we can easily outrun them. All we have to do is be careful that we don't get cornered. Trust me, that place has really good security and they'll be able to take care of anything that follows us. I should know, my brother works there." Alison said as she peeked over the hood to check for zombies.
Aside from a little boy clawing at a broken store window down the street there was no one, zombie or human, in sight. "See girl? You worry for nothing." Alison taunted as she got back up and ran across the street to the next alleyway. "Poor kid..." Cindy whispered as she joined her friend on the otherside of the road. "Most of these things are still back at the casino, I doubt many are just wandering the streets." Alison said confidently as they moved on. Cindy was silent. She wasn't sure if it really was safe or if the zombies were planning something, but a feeling in her gut told her they needed to be careful. One wrong turn is all it would take for them to end up like almost everyone else. "So Devon's place, you sure there will be people there?" Cindy asked, trying to keep her mind off the devistation around her.
"I already told you, Cin. That place is one of the most heavily guarded casinos in town. If two ladies like ourselves could hold down a fuckin' dance club for half a week that place must be doing alright." Her friend replied as they crossed another mostly empty street, trying to ignore the one armed woman pushing an empty baby stroller. "Jesus, I hope we're almost there." Cindy groaned as she resisted the urge to vomit on the sidewalk. "Almost, we just gotta make it around the laster tag building and we're home free." Alison said as she wiped a bead of sweat from her forehead. "Great, which way is the quickest?" Cindy asked as they walked out onto the street. "If we head right we'll have to make our way through a pretty long alleyway that passes around the building and if we go left we can just head past it on the open street." Cindy was sure that the alleyway was safer, but if there was nothing in the street across from them it would be a lot faster to go that way. "Okay Cin. I picked last time, you get to choose this time." Alison said as she raised her shotgun in case they needed to defend themselves.
