Chapter #4Buff Lapine Love by: Juac You both met in middle school five years ago. He was being mugged by some students for his lunch money, but he didn’t have any. His lunch was packed, so they were going to beat him. Everyone knew he wouldn’t fight back so they didn’t gather around him. You wouldn’t let them do it then and you’d still fight for him now. You rushed the kids and managed to fight off their boss as the others left calling you ‘fag lover’.
You hated to admit it but it was obvious. Those sweet, gigantic, turquoise eyes, his button nose, droopy ears, snow white fur, and cotton tail of his. Ciel was the picture of adorable. Thus he was easily picked on and made fun of and almost forced into a life he would have never been happy in. So you chose to protect him, not just because he needed it, but because he was your friend. Even though he never fought back he never ran, knowing you’d be there.
Ciel got through junior year before he realized he couldn’t be weak anymore. But he also made a resolution. He wanted to be strong like you, maybe even more than you. He didn’t want to stand behind you when you protected him. He wanted to shield you now. To be with you and prove to everyone he wasn’t weak. Even though you told him often that he was strong in his own way. He understood what you meant, but did not believe it was enough.
You were both in college now, the same one, even in the same dorm room. You were training to be a chef while he strived to be a model for muscle magazine. He had a well-shaped body now but you were still taller. He could lift you up now even though you can remember a day when you could lift him up and toss him in the air. You could still lift him though, just not throw him. You both even talked about now and back then and laughed.
It was odd that he wanted to change so badly. You never argued against him trying to be strong, you even encouraged him. But you had to ask one day, "Ciel, I know you want to get muscle. But are you really doing it for you?" you made sure to bring this up during dinner and also made sure to tell him the subject was serious.
He was silent and only managed to meekly say, "...yes, I am..." He tried to sound positive. You didn't push but you knew that it wasn't all the truth. You also knew something he tried to hide, but was more obvious then him liking men. Of all the men in the world he loved you. You didn't mind it, you were a bit intrigued by the thought too. You were always attracted to woman naturally but were never in anything serious of a relationship. If there was any man in the world you felt comfortable with, it was him.
As for how he made his way, you let him as he pleased. He is too innocent a person to force or even think of forcing himself upon you. He did do a few accidental things, some he never noticed. One in particular he did almost every day now since he started sleeping over at your house. He started this the third time he spent the night at your house, it was strange but cute and warm beyond words. You'd always let him sleep in your bed as you slept in a bag on the floor. But on that night you felt something odd curling against you as the bag unzipped. You never said a word, but when you woke up in the morning there he was warmly laying next to you with the tip of his thumb in his mouth. Even to this day with his 187 pounds of thin muscle he did this in the night. And you always made sure to wake earlier than him to get into the other bed across the room.
You never told him about it and he always wondered how he'd end up in your bed. Honestly he would never know unless you told him and were thankful he never found you next to him. You didn't want his innocent act to be spoiled by his remorseful thoughts, so you never told him.
"Uhm..."
"What's wrong Ciel..? Don't tell me they rejected you?!"
"No...I...I got in!" he cried out the day he was accepted into the agency, digging himself into your arms. His pictures were posted online the day of his first shooting and you were more than proud of him. that night you took him out on the town, it was only a few days after you moved into the dorm and one of the greatest nights of your life.
Everything was going smoothly at your end too. You were invited to a restaurant to attempt a dish for the head chef. You were even told that depending on hot good the dish was you may even be offered a position at the restaurant. Four other students were also asked to come, two of which were two years ahead of you and could be told were professionals. In the end however you managed to gain second placement which was due for a part time position. One of the older students gained the first and you became fast friends with him. But the other was a problem. He didn't take his defeat graciously.
He could accept the other being in first but not you. You could never tell directly but you saw it clearly in his gaze at you in class on occasion or his ignoring you in passing each other. The gaze became more and more angry and dark to the point that you never saw it again. It was strange but the man just never came to class. He seemed to disappear off campus. People even asked if you had seen him. Sorry to tell them you had not.
Then the day came that you could not think about without your heart sinking deep in your stomach to this day. It was on the way home from work you had invited Ciel to come with you, he'd come sometimes either way when not at work just to see you and taste the food; vegetarian that he is. You and he were simply walking home on the weekend when a man in a long dark jacket came from around a corner blowing out breath in hard unsteady puffs. "I've been waiting for you. You never came, you never even accepted my invitations," the man was clearly deranged and you could tell who it was as he came to light, the student that went missing. "I left it in your mail to see but you never looked at it, you never looked at me!"
Before you could react and as you tried to back away he jumped on you, knife in hand. You held his arm back as it neared your face. "Even at the judging...you never looked at me! You purposely destroyed My Dish Didn't You!!" the knife was being brought down with more force. Ciel could only back away in terror gasping and wondering what to do. That's when you managed to free your right hand and knock him in the face with your elbow. The knife slid across the pavement. As you reached for it his hands clenched around your neck and your breath slowly left your lungs. "No no, No No NOOO!!! You don't get to win twice!"
He said this as your sight slowly went dark and the outlines of objects became fuzzy. Your last words before nearly loosing complete consciousness were, "...run...Ciel..."
Within minutes, you only saw as a sudden flash of events half faded but burned into your memory. Ciel shot his fist into the man's throat, the blow knocking the air that left your longs into his out into the open night. Ciel was trembling and he picked the man up by his collar. Before the man could gain his composure, Ciel kneed him in the stomach. His body coughing and writhing on Ciel's side as he held onto Ciel's sleeve. Ciel knocked him aside, then dropped to the ground and pummeled him until the man's face was red and blue.
Between the darkness and fading scenery you could barely see through your eyes, Ciel managed to nearly kill the man that almost killed you. When he got up from his hate filled daze Ciel was breathing heavily looking down at him. The he gasped and stepped back putting his hands on his mouth and screaming behind them. He then dropped back to the ground and looked to you and shook at you, calling your name. When your eyes opened fully all he could do was break down on your chest. You slid your hand up and pet his fur softly, "you...did great Ciel..." That was when you heard the sirens. And red flashes filled your vision.
After that day Ciel became quiet and would come home early asking where you had been often then going to your room and working out. On the third day you just found him sweating horribly and nearly fearful staring at himself in the mirror. You stood behind him and he gasped when he noticed you and almost broke down. You came behind him and turned him towards you. You stared into his eyes, they were filled with fear, hate, and sadness. All you managed to do was slowly wrap your arms around him and let him cry. You even managed to carry him to bed.
"I...I...he...I couldn't l-let..."
"Ciel..." indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
