Laura scrolled through the list of superpowers that the app offered. She didn't know how she felt about there being user-made powers in the menu. She'd never seen a superhero before; nobody she knew could throw fireballs or grow to ten times their size, or do whatever 'make urself hotter and hotter' was supposed to do.
The last one bothered her. If people couldn't be bothered to spell the name of the powers correctly, then what were the odds of them constructing a decent superpower? 'Make urself hotter and hotter' could turn somebody into the sexiest person on Earth, it could turn them into the Human Torch, or it could just incinerate them on the spot. Maybe that's why superheroes didn't exist; they kept killing themselves on accident.
"It's too much of a risk," Laura muttered, her hand hovering over the 'back' button. She paused. "Then again..."
There were a lot of well-made-looking powers on the list. And who knows, maybe all of those superpowered users were just in other dimensions. Stranger things could happen, after all.
"Maybe just one," Laura said. It was a compromise, albeit a risky one. "But, which one should I go with?"
