Laura sneered as she highlighted her buff brother. "Greg's always been such an athlete. Size and strength has come easy to him. Let's see how he deals with being weak like me for a change." Laura's expression faltered as she felt a slight pang of guilt. "Just for a little while. Maybe then he'll appreciate what he has."
Selecting Greg's profile and navigating to his muscle mass sliders she reduced his size until he was a 6' 2" waif. She was astounded at how the 3D model looked, it was Greg alright but like she'd never seen him before. It was as if a feather could knock him over, and not a particularly stiff feather either.
Before she could chicken out Laura hit the "Apply" button at the top of the screen. The 3D image of Greg vanished for a moment while the word "Processing" appeared then skinny Greg returned but this time his swimsuit had been replaced with denim pants and a Star Wars t-shirt. Just as the question began to form in her mind about why that would happen there was a bright flash of light.
Laura caught her breath as her eyes came back into focus. Once she could see properly again she quickly looked out to the beach to see if the app had worked and shrunk Greg down. She quickly identified the gaggle of hardbodies and bodybuilders that was his crew but couldn't find Greg among them. Even using the zoom feature on the app it was clear that Greg just wasn't there. Not only that but no one seemed concerned that the big man had just vanished. She was just about to see if she could use the app to search for her brother's whereabouts when there was a knock at her bedroom door.
Laura turned to find a 6' 2" waif with Greg's face wearing denim pants and a Star Wars t-shirt.
"Hey, Lulu." Greg said. His voice was higher pitched and almost whiny. "Jason's coming over and we're going to go to the comic shop. Did you want to join?"
"Uh... sure." Questions were buzzing in her head but being a smart girl Laura had the answers or at least the gist of them: the app altered the past. Part of her was bummed out since Greg wouldn't feel the loss of his huge body and thus understand how precious a gift his physique was but another voice spoke louder in Larua's mind: This means I can change anything and it won't be strange to anyone. I can go as crazy as I want!
"Great! I'll let you know when he gets here." Greg vanished leaving Laura alone with her magical phone.
Part of her wanted to be cautious while another part was ready to leave the life she was given behind and become everything she had ever dreamed of. The possibilities were endless.
