"I gotta know if she's made a rendering for me." Jason said. He tapped on the profile search button and entered his name. His eyes went wide when a whole list Jason Sullivan's came up. They were organized by address with the nearest at the top. He shook his head figuring that the app was linked to an online directory or something. "Perhaps it attaches rendering to an individual in the real world. There's no way it could just have an image of everyone. Could it?" Dismissing the possibility as insane he clicked the name at the top that matched his address.
Jason was once again shocked when a perfectly rendered image of himself appeared on the iPhone's screen. It looked exactly like him right down to the clothes he was wearing (a Green Lantern t-shirt and his dark khaki pants). "How is that possible?" he asked out loud to no one. He looked around the room as if he were going to find a hidden camera sending his likeness to the phone in his hand.
When he found no such thing he decided to try making some changes to his profile like he'd done with Greg's. He tapped through a few options until he discovered the muscle sliders he'd used before on Laura's brother. Jason, being the scrawny social outcast he was, had always been envious of Greg's superior size; he knew that he'd never be as big, but he could at least see what he would look like with huge muscles.
Jason moved the slider buttons up slowly enjoying how the image on the screen quickly bulked out. It didn't take long for the Jason on the phone to expand right out of his clothes leaving him clad in only his dark grey briefs (again, how did the app know what he was wearing?!?!). He didn't stop adding mass there, though, and instead kept pushing more and more muscle onto his avatars frame. He stopped when it appeared that he was carrying about the same amount of muscle as Greg. The readouts along the side of the screen listed that he would weigh, if he looked like that, 230 pounds at 6 feet tall.
"Well, it's all in the name of fantasy so why stop there." Jason then quickly slid the muscle adjuster higher until he had far surpassed not only Laura's brother but every man who had ever stepped foot on stage at a bodybuilding show. "Holy crap!" Jason said when he spotted the updated numbers. He was still 6 feet tall but was much heavier. "370 pounds?!? That's nuts! I wonder how strong I would be at that size."
He spent a few moments studying the muscled monster on the screen from every angle. He decided to save the settings in case Laura opened his file in the future. Jason figured she would get a descent laugh out of the super buff version he'd made for himself. Assuming the button in the top right labeled "Apply changes" was the save button Jason tapped it. As soon as he did a message popped up that read:
ATTENTION!
Temporal alteration application settings have not been selected. Alterations cannot be made until you've selected one of the following temporal profiles:
-Historical
-Immediate
-Pending
Temporal Alteration Settings can be changed later from the iPhone settings menu.
Jason had no idea what any of those selections meant but he wanted to save his changes so he picked...
