“All right,” you say to Sarah, still inhabiting your old body. “If you're the real Kevin, remind Louise how the two of you met!”
“Kevin doesn't have to do that,” smiles Louise. “I'd never forget the day we met.”
“That's right,” Sarah says, with a smugly superior grin on your old face. “It's a wonderfully romantic and magical story.”
“Tell us it, then!” you say.
Louise is frowning quietly at Sarah.
Is your plan working?
“Um, we had a super-sweet romantic dinner, of course,” Sarah says, clearly lying.
Louise now turns and looks down at you.
“We had nothing of the sort,” you say with Sarah's tiny, girly voice. “Louise, your car broke down in the rain. I happened to drive by and offered you lift. But then I ran out of gas, and the two of us had to walk a half mile in the rain to get gas. We were both muddy, miserable, and soaked to the skin. And I think you were pretty mad at me that night, even though I was only trying to help. But after you accidentally left your purse behind in my car, we had to meet again so I could return it to you. And we really hit off then.”
“Omigod,” Louise breathed with soft amazement. “Kevin? Are you really trapped in Sarah's body now?”
You nod your head sadly.
“She used some weird, magic ball to make us switch bodies,” you tell Louise.
“Sarah?” Louise addresses your body in horror. “Is that really you in Kevin's body?”
“Yuh-huh,” she answers. “I'm tired of being a little kid. I won't change back. But I'll change bodies with you, Louise. Then I don't have to be a stinky boy.”
“Wha– … I mean, why would you think I'd want to switch bodies with you?!” Louise says, stunned.
“After, you and Kevin can switch with each other,” she says. “Then he gets his ugly, dumb body back. I get to be older, and a girl. And you can be the one who has to be a stupid, little kid.”
“I don't want to be Sarah!” answers Louise.
“And I don't want you in my girlfriend's body!” you insist.
“Then I won't tell you where the magic ball is,” growls Sarah sullenly.
