Sneak out and try to find Derrick

    by: DarkHeart Author IconMail Icon
Arcadia decided: she needed to find Derrick! Maybe he could help her? She nodded and stood up from the floor, untangling herself from the sheets of the bed. It wasn't very bright inside of the house, most, if not everything, was cast in shadows. A closet and a dresser stood near the window, stickers lined the walls and ceiling as though they were supposed to be posters. How was she going to get out of the doll house? Arcadia pushed against the wall to try and move the house open enough for her to slip outside, but she was not strong enough to move it even an inch.

She looked out the window, almost longingly at the door across the toy wasteland. Why would anyone do this to her? Just how many people have fallen into the fate as a plaything of the household? Shaking her head, she looked down at the ground. Going out the window was always an option; a small mini roof lay just a few feet below her to jump down onto. With her mind made up, Arcadia slid her legs out the window, sitting on the windowsill for support. With a deep breath and a push, she began her small jump to the second roof below. Landing with a small THUMP and unable to get a grip of the fake black shingles, she began to slide off the roof and towards the wooden ground below. Closing her eyes, Arcadia tucked her body in and readied for impact. She landed with a indescribable sound, gasping at the sharp pain in her lumbar. Just as soon as the pain started, it was gone.

The ground was a little harder than she thought. Her head must have hit the ground and passed out momentarily. Arcadia rubbed her lumbar region gently as she stood up and took in her surroundings. She had escaped the doll house! The world above her was ginormous and strange to her: dolls lined the shelves above, the toy chest was surrounded by various plastic toys ranging from dolls to automobiles, and the beanbag chairs looked like giant hippy-designed mountains! The door seemed so far away from her now that she was smaller than a barbie doll; it would take her maybe a half hour to even get to it! WIth a sigh and a shake of the head, Arcadia began her long journey to the evil little door.

Like a tourist, she began to inspect things as she passed them, but only breifly. She still was not use to the whole idea of being smaller than a teddy bear. She had to make it to the door; she so did not want to be the toy of a little girl for the rest of her life. Arcadia could recall how rough she had been with her dolls and toys when she was a little girl: the throughing, chewing, dress up,and the sometimes-I-forget-left-you-there moments. Oh yeah, this could not end well for her. Passing a pair of tennis shoes, she got a good idea of just how small she really had become: the shoes was easily 3 times her size! Shivering and continuing on her way, she tried to not think of the idea of someone stepping on her and crushing her to a bloody pulp. She could not focus on such things as she arrived at her destination. Time flies when youre trying to stay alive, huh? The door was still huge compared to the doll house! There was just enough space for her to get on her belly and crawl under the door to freedom...well slight freedom anyway.

Get on her stomach, she slowly and carefully laid her head to the side and began to shimmy her way out from under the door. A slight breeze passed by as her head became free, and soon herself whole. The hallway was the same as it was when she was full-sized: a creamy white with brown mixture to the paint, making it almost a peacful caramell color in some spots. A giant side table with a phone and knick knacks sat infront of her, a mirror just above that. There were so many doors! How was she going to be able to find Derrick?
