Steve stomped away from the pond with the girl's phone in hand. He thought about going to get his shoes but when he looked to the bench that he left them on, he saw the wasps still buzzing around the area. He rubbed his swelling chest and winced at the memory of the stings. He sighed and walked off, leaving the wasps and his shoes behind.
Leaving the area, Steve looked for somewhere else he could sit long enough to drip dry. The dirt bellow collected on his wet socks which began irritating his skin. By the time he found a new bench, he was very happy to be off his feet again. He knew that there would be no way he could make it home without something to protect his feet. He sat down and rested on a bench for the second time since he got to the park.
This bench was out under the sun so there was no chance of falling nests, thankfully. It also meant he would dry off pretty quickly. Sitting proved to be a bigger challenge than he expected, however, due to his sensitive backside. He shift around until he finds a position that caused the least amount of discomfort. He crossed on leg over the knee of the other and bounced it gently. He leaned back with his arms around the back of the bench and closed his eyes.
