There was no telling whose lower torso you were staring at, especially considering how huge everything appeared now. At such a macroscopic scale, that girl didn't resemble anyone you'd seen before, and she could very well be a stranger. Things could be very bad for you if you tried to climb a girl you didn't even know when you'd have your life entirely in her hands in your vulnerable state. It might be better to get a good look at whomever you came across, as long as you played it smart and didn't rush into the crowd of promgoers. Too many horrific scenarios of you being stepped on by the very person you sought help from were already coming to mind.
With your back to the table leg, you peek out at the scene, which you realize is where the girls who weren't dancing were congregating to drink some of whatever punch or whatever was in the bowl. You had an awful vantage point from your worm's eye view, and it wasn't a very pressing detail. A high heel-clad shoe suddenly crashes down about a foot outside of the table, which you're at the edge of, sending tremor-like vibrations through the floor that would have toppled you over had your weight not been resting on the table leg. This serves as yet another grim reminder that you were in a highly dangerous area, and that underplanning could be fatal.
