Eric On the Field

Eric was floored. It was late summer, the air was crisp, the sun bright, the new team was on the field and Eric had just been named team captain. It was great. The bleacher stands had a couple of fans cheering the new team on as they did some practice drills and maneuvers. Eric spotted his girl friend Rachel in the crowd and felt his smile grow a bit bigger.
"MATTHEWS!" called the coach, jarring Eric out of his natural high.
"Yes sir?" Eric said hustling over to the Coach.
"Eric, congrats again on being named team captain," Coach started.
"Thanks sir, it really is a dream come true," Eric said and feel himself blush with pride.
