It was a heart breaker. After a fantastic season the Bulls lost the championship game in overtime when Eric was unable to block the receiver from the game winning pass. He was just out-muscles by the bigger defensive players on the Cougars. Nobody held Eric responsible but he just couldn't stop thinking about it. It was his fault. He just didn't have the strength and the bulk to do what needed to be done. Now that the season was over, Eric vowed that whatever it took, he would never be out powered again on the field. He was going to get bigger.
The question was how. He saw two choices. The first was to talk to his coach. This was his Senior year. He wouldn't be playing next year at High School but if he was going to make it in college football he needed more muscle and heft and his Coach would know what he could do. His other option was to stop worrying about the muscle and concentrate on the heft. Lay off the cardio and weights over the winter and concentrate on packing on some pounds.
