The Box

Opening it, you see three pairs of necklaces(one and two are a pair of matching gold chain necklaces, the third a rosary), a few assorted rings, some bracelets, and a gold locket with an empty frame inside. There were plenty of girls at school who would probably like to have this jewelry box. Maybe one of them would even be impressed enough with your generosity by agreeing to go out with you. And hell, even if that plan fell through, your mom was always begging dad to buy her some new jewelry. If you bought it for her instead, mom would be happy, and dad's wallet would be fatter.

Agreeing with the angel on your right shoulder and ignoring the devil on your left, you ignore the other items in the store(maybe you'll come back for those next week when your allowance kicks in) and decide to get the box.
