Tommy & Noah

"Are you awake?"

It was a simple enough question, but Tommy didn't really feel up to answering it. When he tried opening his eyes, all he could see were shadows, some of them moving in ways shadows had no business in moving. Something was pushing on his shoulder; the toned muscle under the bronzed skin of his broad shoulder, to be exact, and it wasn't having much luck moving around his solid weight. They were fingers, long, but weak, and they probably belonged to whoever was asking him such a dumb question.

"Hey, man, are you awake?!"

"Yes, fuck, I'm awake!"

It was a kid, a small, young thing that jumped back with a flinch as Tommy sat up on what was, apparently, a very cold floor. Tommy's eyes went wide as he struggled to blink out the blurriness that kept the room from coming into focus. When they finally did, he realized that it hadn't helped.

"Where the hell am I?"

"I ... I dunno where we are."

The boy stood up, glancing about, and Tommy stared at the stranger with suspicion. He was a young boy, probably not even in high school, with a thin, lanky body. He wore a beach tank top and shorts, his tanned leggings thin and ending in sandals around his feet. His hair was dark blonde and unkempt, but his face was smooth and curious, if not tinged with a bit of apprehension.

"I just woke up a little while ago and found you on the ground. Do you think we've been kidnapped?"

"How the fuck should I know?"

The last thing Tommy could remember was getting ready to go to practice after last period. He had been walking with his girlfriend, trying to convince her into meeting him that night when her parents were gone for the week and ... and then ... and then he had blacked out. He was still wearing his old jersey, the one that didn't even come down passed his chest and showed off his abs, along with some football shorts and a new pair of sneakers.

"Who are you, kid? Did you bring me here!?!"

"What? No!" He spun around, a scared look of shock on his face. "My name is Noah. I was just coming home from school when all of a sudden I was here. I dunno how I got here!"

"Yeah, yeah ... fine."

Tommy took a quick look around the room. It was small, probably only 20' x 20', but with an oddly high ceiling about 25' above. There were rugs, a couch, a plasma screen television on one wall, a few small tables, and no apparent windows or door from what he could see.

"I'm Tommy, I guess."

The contempt in his voice went unnoticed as Noah suddenly brightened up and jumped right next to him in relief.

"It's nice to meet you! Where do you think we are? Who brought us here? What is this place?"

The boy's long feet were flexing excitedly in his sandals, the leather straps creaking audibly next to the sitting teen as he looked up with a scowl.

"Dude, chill the fuck out."

Tommy shook his head, clearing out the last bits of confusion, and began to stand when suddenly...
