Chapter #3

Can swap with people by thinking.

Hi, my name is Dean. I recently discovered I can exchange traits with people just by thinking about it. How it happened? That can be explained in another story arc. But that doesn't matter. I made several swaps with some of the people in my family at home to test it out. I didn't have too much trouble with those swaps, but now I am back to normal. I'm back to being just your average eighteen year old boy.

I decided that now that I found out it worked and I can get back to normal without too much trouble to take my act on the road (so to speak) and try it with strangers in public.

When I make a swap, nobody notices anything. The swap seems perfectly normal to everyone involved and to the entire world around them. I'm pretty sure I could make it such that someone (or a group of people) notices, but I'm not ready to do that just yet. For now, lets just make a swap and see what happens.

I drove myself to the community Walmart in which everyone from the half dozen or so towns all shop. I live in a small town, but the problem with that is there isn't everything one would want, so like the other towns around here we all have to drive the the closest Walmart. Now that I am here, I find that there are scores of people to swap with. Pretty much all of them are strangers to me. I do recognize a few people from my town, but for now I'll stick with a strangers.

After looking at and rejecting several candidates, I find a small girl of about seven who is sitting in the basket of a cart being pushed by what I presume to be her mother. The girl has her back against the wire mesh of the cart and her legs bent at the knees with her feet on the bottom of the cart. She is wearing a pretty checkered dress that extends past her knees. She is wearing white tights and some sort of black shoes I can't see very well. Inside the cart with her is several items of groceries which are obscuring her feet. Under the girls arms is a doll she is holding casually. She is just looking around but not really paying attention to anything.

I'm going to swap lives with this girl. It would be fun to be in that cart and be wheeled around again just like I was when I was a kid. I'm sure no one will think anything is odd.

Better yet, when I swap lives with the girl, I'll also swap everything that she owns too. I want to be dressed like that and carry that doll. I'm sure it'll even look funnier, although no one will care one way or the other.

I use my power and think about swapping and soon I'm the one in the cart. I can feel the hard mesh of the cart on my back and on my butt. It really isn't too comfortable. I was looking at 'Mommy' but I take my eyes off her to look at what I'm wearing. I am indeed wearing a dress. It expanded to fit my frame as I knew it would. I look at my legs and realize I wasn't wearing tights after all. I'm just wearing knee high socks. I can feel where they end on my legs under the skirt of my dress.

What happened next?
