Bruised and cut from your wild ride and rough landing, you looked through the glass to see a number of men in military uniforms, storming the laboratory. Shouts of protest from both mom and dad reached your ears and you hurried along the wall, hoping to find a door.
"What's going on!?" you asked yourself, wincing with each painful but hurried step. "Dad builds these things for the government, why would they want to shut him down!?"
Finding a door, you pushed against it but it would not budge. You banged against it and it whooshed open, allowing you to run out into the open. Seeing you come out of the glass chamber, everyone froze, including you. The men looked at you, stunned as, unknown to you, no one expected to find a living being to enter the room from the machine.
You froze as everyone, minus your mom and dad, looked like the characters from the Stargate universe television program that had aired every Saturday. It was your favorite show. "Are they shooting a movie here?" you thought. "I wish they would have told me."
Finally, you rose one hand. "Um... hi."
Max looked at you stunned. "Impossible..." he whispered.
Natasha also looked at you stunned, tears flowing from her eyes. "Eric..."
"Look I'm sorry if I wrecked something." you said, tearing up. "That thing pulled me in like a giant vacuum, you saw me get thrown in..." you paused, seeing everyone's confused looks. "Didn't you?..."
A tall man, in military fatigues, who seemed to have been in charge, pointed at you. "Get that boy into containment!" he ordered. "I'll question him later!"
Two soldiers quickly walked towards you with their guns drawn. "Just take it easy, young man." said the first man. "There's no need to panic."
"Come with us quietly." said the second man. "We won't hurt you."
Even though you struggled, the two soldiers made short work of handcuffing you. As one man carried you, protesting, towards the stairs, you heard the man in charge speak to who you thought or hoped was your mom and dad. "Do you two realize what you could have brought upon us by creating and opening your own Stargate?" he asked. "The general is going to hit the roof with you two!"
"Sergent Harris, you need to listen to me." protested Max.
Hearing Sergent Harris, you turned pale but still chuckled. "If that's a Stargate, its a bad mock up." you said. you then described exactly what a real Stargate looked like before adding, "With some modifications, it'll be a great movie prop but you should really tone down its power. I mean, talk about over kill..."
Everyone in the room paled but the man in charge quickly recovered and turned to you. "Son, I don't think you realize the true seriousness of your situation."
How do you respond?
