As I left the elevator and headed for my office, a new thought crossed my mind. If I used the remote to shrink myself down, I could spy on my coworkers! As I walked into the office and sat down at my desk, I made a quick mental note of who was nearby.
A light was on in the room next to mine, at the cubicle of one of my least favorite coworkers, Anna. I could hear music and the sound of her keyboard furiously typing. She hoping to take my job, I was hoping for her to transfer. A light was also on in the office of my boss, Edith, although her door was shut and I couldn’t tell for sure if she was there or not.
I decided it would be easier to figure out where to explore after I was small. My hands trembling, I took the remote out of my purse and put it on my desk. Trying to be as subtle as I could, I glanced at the walls of the room. There were a few security cameras, but they couldn’t see me well as long as I remained in my office.
This was totally crazy, but if it worked I might find some good information! Staring at the remote, I thought about how best to perform the actual shrinkage. My first thought was to crawl under my desk, undress, and stash my clothes in the drawer. People often walked by my office, but if I acted quickly I should be tiny before anyone noticed. I could also use the remote in a nearby closet or washroom stall, but I wasn’t sure how I could keep other people from finding my clothes, and the remote, once I was tiny!
