As time passed, Tyler began to see results. He was gradually able to eat more, his workouts with Doug were paying off, and he added another 15 pounds over the course of a few months. Because he was bulking, some of this added weight was fat, but Doug reassured him that they’d do a cut once he hit his goal and the fat would melt away.
Gina was loving it. Her little boy was growing into quite a man, and she had played no small part in it through her cooking. She even liked the little bit of pudge that he’d added. But in the time it took for Tyler to ramp up his caloric intake, she continued to pick up the slack in finishing what was left. As Tyler ate more and more of what she cooked, Gina began to snack more to fight off the hunger pangs that were hitting her with increasing regularity and strength. The other issue was that while she cooked good balanced meals for Tyler, she was filling in her own gaps with empty calories in the form of things like chips and cookies. As a result, Gina had packed on 15 pounds of her own.
While Gina let Doug know regularly how proud she was with his progress, the truth was that Doug was pretty pleased with Gina’s changing body as well. Her body had been nice before, but she was developing into a real knockout. He could see that she was really filling out her sports bras and yoga pants these days and he loved it.
