Chapter #2
The one containing a drink
by: Unknown
You pick up the little bottle containing liquid. You assume it's a drink of some sort, although clearly cannot determine what it is, or what it might taste of. You remove the stopper in the top and clear away the residue of wax around it until it's fairly clean - at least without any loose bits that might get into the drink. You sniff it first, but cannot determine it really smells of much. At least it clearly doesn't seem to be a nasty acid or suchlike. Living in the moment you take a sip. It tastes a little weird, like grape juice mixed with wine with an underlying smokiness, like wood fires. Well, it definitely appears to be a drink then. You'll have to try to find out what it is. You have a genuine drink from the 17th century. That's cool. You know you'll need to keep most of it to help identify what it is, but cannot resist having another taste. Then you put the stopper back into the top of the bottle. A bit weird but interesting...
Then, after a few moments, you start feeling a bit odd. You feel a bit spaced out and dizzy. Then you realize you've started shaking, and your skin feels tingly. Maybe it wasn't supposed to be a drink after all, you think to yourself. Or maybe 300 years in a bottle does weird things to a potion. Oh crap. You remember this was a bottle that was supposedly owned by a witch, so what if it was actually a potion, not a drink? By now your whole body is shaking, and you skin feels like it's alternately on fire then in a freezer. You somehow have no doubt that potion is doing something to you.
