... by means of a friend, a digitalization machine and Photoshop! See, I live together with Mike, a rather shy, nerdy guy. One day he came up to me after almost a week of seclusion. "Andrew, you have to see this!" he said and so we went into his apartment.
In there, I saw what reminded me somewhat of the shrink ray in "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids". "What is that!?" I asked him. "That is the Digitalizer!". "What does it do?" I asked. "It digitalizes. Watch!" he said, picked an emtpy plastic bottle from the floor and put it on a chair sitting in front of the thing.
Next he walked up to his computer, fired up some program... and Zapp! The bottle was gone!
"Eh!?" I gasped. Just then I looked over to him and saw him drooling over the display. "Look!" he said and opened up a file on the desktop.
Suddenly Photoshop popped open, with a seemingly perfect image of the bottle on-screen. "That's a picture of the bottle?". "No. It IS the bottle! Look..." he said and used the pen tool to draw a cross on there. After that he saved the picture, went into the other program and pressed a button.
Now the Digitalizer hummed back to life, next I saw a ray of light and Zapp! On the chair there stood the bottle again. Only it had a black cross on it, exactly the same one Mike painted on there in Photoshop!
"No fucking way!". "Yes way, Andrew! It turns objects into digital data! But that's not what I wanted you here for. See, I need a human test subject...".
